Membership Levels
  • Associate Member

Individuals, specifically students, who do not have specific postdoctoral or equivalent training in ID or a related field may apply for associate membership in order to take advantage of the educational opportunities provided by TIDS. Associate members do not have voting privileges. However, like all Texas Infectious Diseases Society members, associate members may attend the Annual Meeting.

  • General Member

Individuals are eligible to become members immediately upon completion of postdoctoral or equivalent training in infectious diseases or a related field. Physicians without formal ID training are eligible if the majority of their professional activities are in infectious diseases or a related field, such as HIV/AIDS. Members have full voting privileges and may serve on Texas Infectious Diseases Society committees and task forces.

Membership Dues

There shall be dues per annum in the amount of $100.00 dollars for all
members, payable online or directly to the Secretary-Treasurer in the beginning of the calendar year. Dues may be changed from year to year at the discretion of the Society, the precise amount to be determined by a majority vote of the Society at its annual meeting or by electronic ballot of the entire Society. Associate members may have their fee waived by providing a sponsor recommendation letter from a TIDS member confirming student status including the enrollment period.

For additional information on the different levels of membership, please refer to the Texas Infectious Diseases Society By Laws .
